Individual Counselling
Individual counselling, also known as one-on-one therapy or psychotherapy, provides a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore personal challenges.
It is designed for those struggling with family conflicts, work or academic stress, or overwhelming emotions that affect daily life and social interactions.
At Ealing Counselling & Coaching, we offer individual counselling while respecting cultural and gender differences, addressing specific concerns that may arise for men and women.
Areas We Cover:
- Emotional distress, including depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and anger
- Personal growth and self-exploration for unmet potential or unresolved issues
- Work transitions (graduation, career changes, unemployment, or retirement)
- Life transitions (adapting to immigration, divorce, illness, or caregiving responsibilities)
- Parenting teenagers
- Grieving the loss of loved ones, including pets
- Relationship challenges, including conflicts with family members, colleagues, supervisors, or subordinates
Counselling Sessions
During the initial session, our therapist will discuss your concerns and therapeutic goals. Based on this conversation, we will recommend a suitable number of sessions:
- For a single or straightforward issue: 1–3 sessions
- For multiple concerns: 6–12 sessions to address the most pressing issues first
- For trauma or childhood abuse: 12+ sessions to identify patterns, work through layers of impact, and foster healing
Session Frequency
We typically recommend weekly sessions at the start of therapy. As progress is made, sessions can be gradually spaced out to biweekly or monthly intervals, ensuring continued support and preventing relapse.
Completing Therapy
Therapy completion is a collaborative decision. Clients may feel ready to step away and apply what they’ve learned, or they can discuss with their therapist the best time to conclude or take a break from therapy. The goal is always to ensure clients feel confident and supported in their journey.
